Dr Aref Al Shehhi

Dr. Aref Alshehhi has many years of progressive leadership & management experience and has a profound strategic understanding of rehabilitation, medicine and healthcare economics.

In his career life, Dr. Aref has held several executive positions including CEO of Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC), and Group Senior Advisor in SEHA. As well, he is a member of the Advisory Board of DOH, and Chair of several Medical and Administrative Committees vital to shaping healthcare organizations and society in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Aref is a Medical Consultant in the field of Rehabilitation Medicine. He studied at McMaster University, Canada, and has a fellowship in neuromuscular disorders and EMG. In addition, he received an MBA with honors from Abu Dhabi University, and a fellowship in Health Care Management and Administration from Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, which provided him with philosophical critical thinking skills for resolving complex scenarios in medical and business environments.

Currently, Dr. Aref is responsible for leading the National Rehabilitation Center as Chief  executive officer to continue its mission as “The Main Reference for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Addiction and Substance Abuse” in accordance with the provisions of law (2 – 2022).
