As regards the research activity, the doctor is particularly involved in the study of biomarkers in patients suffering from severe asthma with possible comorbidities (nasal polyposis) and of diamino oxidase in patients with gastrointestinal disorders. It also focuses on the characterization of risk factors for the development of severe hypersensitivity reactions to drugs, including chemotherapeutics and on the study of the mechanisms underlying severe allergic reactions to drugs such as DRESS (drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms), Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis.
